It’s like volleyball in a cage!
The newest sport to join the ranks of Salisbury’s long list of options is REBOUND VOLLEYBALL. We still have our beach volleyball courts outside but now we’ve also taken the game inside in an exciting, hectic version that caters for all ability types. Rebound Volleyball requires 6 players per team and it’s an ‘open’ comp, which means there are no restrictions on how many guys or girls you have.
Well firstly, it’s played across the width of one of our indoor cricket courts (which is about 4m wider than a normal volleyball court), but with the baseline marked approximately 7m back, making a unique rectangular court for you to defend.
Because the width of the court extends right across, players are allowed to hit and play the ball off the court’s side nets, making for some fun and frantic game play! There are some restrictions though - a line is marked around the side netting approximately 1m from the ground below which the ball is not allowed to contact. There are also restrictions on when the ball can contact the ceiling net (only on the first hit of the team, which allows teams to get the ball under control after receiving a spike).
Like other versions of volleyball, teams must rotate their service order, though players can stand in any position on court.

Team Bond: A team bond equal to one match fee ($72) is payable with any team nomination. This bond is refundable at the end of the season, or can be rolled to the following season if your team renominates again. Teams who leave the competition before the end of the season, or who are removed by management due to unacceptable behaviour, will forfeit their bond.
Match Fees: Teams have two options for paying their match fees...
Pay per match: $72 per team per match. Full fees are always payable, even if a team is short of players.
Match fees pay per season: Teams have the option of paying for the entire season up-front rather than paying each week. Teams who choose this option receive a 10% discount on the total season's fees. For a volleyball team, that's a saving of $108 - and you will never need to worry about collecting fees from your team mates!

2 weeks pre-season: New teams and teams not participating in the finals have the opportunity to play pre-season practice matches that assist management in accurately grading teams for the coming competition.
15 weeks of competition: All teams play a 15 week regular season.
2 week of finals: Teams who qualify after the 15 week regular season participate in the semi and preliminary finals over 2 weeks, still playing on their regular playing night.
Grand Finals: All Grand Finals of all sports and all nights are payed on the Saturday immediately following the last of the preliminary finals.
Please note: Each season commences immediately after the previous one. Teams not participating in the finals will instead play two weeks of pre-season games.
All players must compete in IDENTICAL team uniforms. The Uniform rule applies to tops only. Tops may be of any colour or style, provided ALL team mates wear exactly the same.
Teams must be in uniform by Round 2 of the regular competition.

The Importance of Eating Breakfast
Spending a fun-filled day playing sports can be a great way to pass the time. However, all of the fun can come to a screeching halt if you don't have enough energy. One of the best ways to ensure that you have the energy that you need to get through the day is by eating breakfast.
Around Australia, more and more people are embracing the concept of indoor sports. You haven't experienced a truly exciting indoor game, though, unless you've given indoor soccer a try. Learn more about what makes this sport so incredibly addicting - and so fun - by reading on below.
