We all know that water is essential to life, but what water is best to drink for our on-going health? Obviously water contaminated by harmfull elements is not conducive to good health and your body will do its best to remove most contaminants through its own filtration processes - yes, you, your body, is a filter!
Drinking water that has already been filtered makes sense so as not to apply unnecessary stresses to your body. Similarly, certain "additives" can enhance your bodies ability to hydrate - which is the main reason we need water!
There are many products available with great claims for hydration and health benefits but most are primarily about building a brand and persuading you to 'buy'! A lot of these 'brands' actually contain ingredients that can harm your body or, at least, demand it work harder to keep you healthy. The most common of these are sugars both natural and artificial - if you have to have sugar-laced water, choose the natural and not the artificial. Also, caffine and other stimulants may be added - more for taste and marketing hype than any real bodily benefit for you. It is common knowledge that high consumptions of such 'water' sources definitely increase risks to your long term good health. Apart from the potential adverse health issues, hyped up sports and energy drinks are also costly, some around $10 a bottle and for what benefit to you? A dubious hydration claim or a false impression that you will be more 'cool' and 'acceptable' to your peers when seen drinking such products?
At Salisbury Super Sports, even though we stock these products for your convenience, we are more interested in your good health and also offer at no cost, purified filtered Aquaman water which combined with Salisbury Super Sports free sipper bottles means you can always have pure water with you and, if you really want genuine hydration enhanced water, Xooma Natural Hydration and Alkalizing Sachets to drop into your free filtered water. How much? One sachet enhances up to 2 litres of filtered water for only $2.00 - a fraction of the commercially packaged products!
Right! So, what is Alkalizing all about? See next issue for the low-down on Alkalized Environments or go to xoomaworldwide.com/aquaman.
Some of you may know Dave (Games Manager) has changed personal circumstances which involve a new love and a ready-made family. Obviously, especially the later, these changes bring new pressures and responsibilites and Dave has decided his best option is to spend more time, at night, at home and consequently less time at Salisbury Super Sports.
We wish Dave well both at home and in his new role back in the golfing world, but he isn't completely gone. Dave will still be around to help out Steve and Nick from time to time and to umpire and play. We are pleased to advise that Steve and Nick will be sharing the Games Management role and we know that you will give them your every support as we, management will.
Regardless of these changes and split Games Management, centre policy and rules have not changed, including the need to have your fees paid up to date to take the court and be wearing your team uniform. Steve, Nick and the umpires are under strict instructions to support these and other house rules, so please take responsbility to ensure you comply or no game!
On another front, we are pleased to advise that Salisbury Super Sports is investing in new Games Software that will make it easier for you to stay up to date with both your personal and team's activity and results - more to come on this interactive program soon.
One last thing - if you see Sean McMaster wandering around, give him a smile. He is not formally back at Salisbury Super Sports but has agreed to help out with the proposed new systems and training. Good-on-ya Sean! Maybe we might get some of his sports trivia thrown in?

Recently, we advised that Xooma X20 Hydration and Alkalizing Sachets were available at Supersports and now are pleased to advise a special deal on this product. For a limited time, you can buy Xooma Sachets at HALF PRICE - that's right, HALF PRICE which is less than the manufacturers direct sale price (xoomaworldwide.com/aquaman or the aquaman.com.au web site).
What's so special about Xooma Sachets apart from the price? This tiny "tea bag" type sachet contains the purest mineral deposits naturally available and is super rich in bio-available calcium and other minerals and trace elements with a high ph (alkalizing) value. Most "processed" drinks (Coke, Pepsi, Sports Drinks etc) are generally acidic which tends to have a deteriorating affect on the human body. We don't die from this or at least, not straight away because the body has mechanisms to cope, short term, with this affect. Continued consumption of high acidic foods and drink can have adverse affects on organ function, especially the liver and kidneys and may reduce your bone density which is especially noticeable as we age.
Invest in your long term good health now! Minimise or avoid sweetened/acidic drinks and foods and always have with you purified water infused with efficient hydrating enhanced compounds such as Xooma X20.
In simple terms, the body's ph 'balance' is maintained around 7 (on the ph value scale). Your gut contains a continuing supply of acidic material normally used by it in the digestive process, but it does not hold a continually replenishing supply of alkaline material. The net effects are: if the body becomes over alkalized (a very rare event) it just absorbs small amounts of acidic material from the gut to compensate but, when (this is much more frequent a event) it becomes 'acidic' the body has to draw alkaline compounds from your organs (mainly your liver) and bones, all of which can contribute to osteoporosis in later life.
High acidic values in the body generally pose no immediate danger but can have long term adverse consequences for your good health. Drinking Xooma X20 infused pure water is one way to assist your body maintain a healthy ph balance with minimal stresses on your body's resources.
Right now, get Xooma X20 at HALF PRICE - less than the direct manufacturer price - check it out at xoomaworldwide.com/aquaman for your better, healthier body.
Hi Everyone
By now you will have noted, if you noticed, Nick & Steve are handling the games management well and professionally with more attention to the games board, draws and interaction with team captains. Obviously, if you need to discuss any aspect of your game please feel free to appraoch either Steve or Nick in the absence of your team captain - maybe even to just let them know how they are performing in their new roles?
Unfortunately we are still having some 'incidents' that occasionally mar the enjoyment of the game and the efficient running of the Centre. On the 10.1.12, a player was sent off the court by our umpire and subsequently banned from the Centre. The behaviour exhibited during this incident definitely will NOT be tolerated at SSS and we commend the umpire for standing his ground in what was obviously a very stressful situation.
We don't like to, or go out of our way to, ban players but will always fully support our staff whenever disrespect is shown to either them or other players. Perhaps this player will find a way to make a genuine apology?
There were some less dramatic but none the less, serious breaches of house rules such as drinking alcohol in the car park area and smoking other than in the designated smoking area. If you don't already know, both of these activities breach the liquor licensing laws and could result in substantial fines for both the perpertrator/s and the Centre so, please, NO alcohol in the car park and NO smoking except in the designated area. We will appreciate your co-operation. Apart from the potential fines, glass in the car park or on the footpath is a no-no!
Please only consume alcohol (purchased at the Centre - it is illegal for anyone to bring alcohol ONTO licensed premises) within the licensed areas - inside the Centre, on the deck and in the designated smoking area.
Enjoy the games, that's what you come for. Thanks for your attention.

We have all been told many times over that we are what we eat. There is so much truth about that, although maintaining a truly healthy body requires not just healthy diet, but regular exercise as well.
Summer is a wonderful time for outdoor sports. However, our harsh sun can often create unpleasant consequences. Games such as indoor cricket come to the rescue for men and women who enjoy playing sport throughout the year.
Pain: the Agony and the Elation
Everyone experiences pain during their lifetime. It is a part of being human. However, we should be able to distinguish between good pain and bad pain. Everyone who performs some kind of exercise should ensure that their pain is not detrimental to their well-being.
