With no out-of-bounds and a smaller court than the traditional outdoor game, Brisbane indoor netball can be fast and frantic, while still being playable by all standard of players.
Traditionally known as a sport for women, Indoor Netball has become one of the most popular mixed team sports in Australia. As more and more ‘spectator’ husbands, boyfriends, friends and brothers are getting off the sidelines and onto the court, our mixed teams now match our ladies in team numbers at Salisbury Super Sports.
Most of the rules of Indoor Netball are similar to the traditional outdoor version, but for those who have never played, the basics are:
- 7 players per team, each with a designated position and zone of the court they are allowed to move within (mixed teams are allowed a maximum of 3 guys)
- Extra players are allowed, but substitutions can only be made between quarters
- Each match consists of 4 x 10 minute quarters (players may change positions during any quarter-time break)
- Netball is a non-contact sport and defenders must remain 3 feet from the ball-carrier
- Because the court is completely surrounded by netting, there is no 'out-of-bounds', adding a dimension and tactics not available to traditional netball
- Teams earn bonus points on the ladder by winning each quarter or 'skin'

Salisbury Super Sports offers Indoor Netball on the following nights:

Team Bond: A team bond equal to one match fee ($84) is payable with any team nomination. This bond is refundable at the end of the season, or can be rolled to the following season if your team renominates again. Teams who leave the competition before the end of the season, or who are removed by management due to unacceptable behaviour, will forfeit their bond.
Match Fees: Teams have two options for paying their match fees...
Pay per match: $84 per team per match. Full fees are always payable, even if a team has less than 7 players.
Match fees pay per season: Teams have the option of paying for the entire season up-front rather than paying each week. Teams who choose this option receive a 10% discount on the total season's fees. For a netball team, that's a saving of $126 - and you will never need to worry about collecting fees from your team mates!

2 weeks pre-season: New teams and teams not participating in the finals have the opportunity to play pre-season practice matches that assist management in accurately grading teams for the coming competition.
15 weeks of competition: All teams play a 15 week regular season.
2 week of finals: Teams who qualify after the 15 week regular season participate in the semi and preliminary finals over 2 weeks, still playing on their regular playing night.
Grand Finals: All Grand Finals of all sports and all nights are payed on the Saturday immediately following the last of the preliminary finals.
Please note: Each season commences immediately after the previous one. Teams not participating in the finals will instead play two weeks of pre-season games.
All players must compete in IDENTICAL team uniforms. The Uniform rule applies to tops only. Tops may be of any colour or style, provided ALL team mates wear exactly the same. Teams must be in uniform by Round 2 of the regular competition.
