A sport popular with players of all ages, Indoor Cricket has grown over the years to become one of Australia’s most popular ways to meet people, exercise and have fun!
Indoor Cricket has been immensely popular in Australia since it was invented in the late 70’s.
The beauty of Indoor Cricket is that EVERY player bats and bowls the same number of overs as their team mates, keeping everyone involved in the game. For those who have never played before, the basics of Indoor Cricket are:
- 8 players per team
- Teams may still take the court with a minimum of 6 players, though their opponents get to choose which player(s) bat and bowl in the missing players place
- Each innings consists of 16 x 6 ball overs, with every player bowling 2 overs and each batting pair facing 4 overs
- Batsmen score runs by running between wickets but also gain bonus runs of between 1 and 6 for hitting certain nets
- When a batsman is 'out' he loses 5 runs from his score but remains in bat
- Teams also earn bonus ladder points or 'skins' by winning each corresponding batting partnership (i.e. 1st pair of Team A versus 1st pair of Team B, etc)
- The only equipment players need is a bat, gloves and protector and all of these can be either purchased or borrowed from Salisbury Super Sports
- Matches last approximately 1 hr 10 mins (30 - 35 mins/innings)

Salisbury Super Sports offers Indoor Crickets competitions every night from Monday through to Thursday evenings. Each night has its own graded competition - usually with between 3 and 5 grades - matching similarly skilled teams against each other.

Team Bond: A team bond equal to one match fee ($96) is payable with any team nomination. This bond is refundable at the end of the season, or can be rolled to the following season if your team renominates again. Teams who leave the competition before the end of the season, or who are removed by management due to unacceptable behaviour, will forfeit their bond.
Match Fees: Teams have two options for paying their match fees...
Pay per match: $96 per team per match. Full fees are always payable, even if a team has less than 8 players.
Match fees pay per season: Teams have the option of paying for the entire season up-front rather than paying each week. Teams who choose this option receive a 10% discount on the total season's fees. For a cricket team, that's a saving of $144 - and you will never need to worry about collecting fees from your team mates!

2 weeks pre-season: New teams and teams not participating in the finals have the opportunity to play pre-season practice matches that assist management in accurately grading teams for the coming competition.
15 weeks of competition: All teams play a 15 week regular season.
2 week of finals: Teams who qualify after the 15 week regular season participate in the semi and preliminary finals over 2 weeks, still playing on their regular playing night.
Grand Finals: All Grand Finals of all sports and all nights are payed on the Saturday immediately following the last of the preliminary finals.
Please note: Each season commences immediately after the previous one. Teams not participating in the finals will instead play two weeks of pre-season games.
All players must compete in IDENTICAL team uniforms. The Uniform rule applies to tops only. Tops may be of any colour or style, provided ALL team mates wear exactly the same. Teams must be in uniform by Round 2 of the regular competition.
